While each poker player has their own unique playing and decision making style, there are basically only four main categories of players. Belonging to this or that type players have both strong and weak points and all of them have advantages over others in some particular situations. There are at least two main attributes for each of these types. If the player is tight (plays very few hands) or loose (plays a lot of hands): Whether the player is aggressive or passive. An aggressive player raises and bluffs a lot. A passive player prefers to call the bets of other players. Loose-Aggressive Loose-aggressive player is the weakest player especially in online poker game. These players are constantly raising before and after the flop. If playing in a real casino such a strategy works against poor players and allows a player to win only small pots. But in an online casino this strategy will bring nothing but losses. Sharks are often attracted by such players. Sharks let such a player has his small pots, but then they are ready to break this player and win all his money. The only advice here is not to stick to one and the same table. It is better to change tables every 50 hands. Loose-Passive This is another weak category. They typically will simply call the bets of the other players disregarding the Pot Odds or strength of their hand. Unlike other players these ones can stay in the game for a very long period of time. But still even they are not able of beating the house. Tight-Passive These players can win money simply because there are so many bad players in the online poker rooms. Such players are easy to notice. Players of this type never bluff. If this type of player has a decent hand or a lot of outs, he or she will call your bet or make a small bet. If not, they will fold. Tight-Aggressive This is the best type among all others. These players will only see a flop with a decent hand and will then take a shot at the pot after the flop with a bet.
