> Web Straight Poker Best Hand Poker is popular all over the world. Poker has some features of the card games, which were played long ago, but the modern version of the game is a purely American game. There are many variations of Poker, but they differ mostly in details and all follow the same basic principles. A person who has learned these principles can play without difficulty in any game. Poker is a game of betting and card combinations. Traditionally the strongest hand available is a combination of 5 highest-ranking cards, there are poker variations, in which the best hands are different. In High/Low poker the pot can be split by two players. Both the player with the highest hand and the player with the lowest hand are winners. Players make their bets and put the chips in the center of the table, which is called a pot. No player can compete for the pot unless he or she is willing to meet the highest bet made by another player. Because of this rule, players are able to bluff and win the pot. To win the pot is the objective of the game. There are two ways of winning the pot. When all the bets are made by the players, they show down their cards. The player who has the strongest hand is the winner. If one of the players make a bet, which is not met by other players, he wins the pot without showing his cards. All cards of the 52 card deck are used. The cards are dealt one at a time, clockwise motion (number of cards varies with game). Aces are high, but aces rank low in the sequence A-2-3-4-5.
