There exist at east 4 types of poker players. Each of these styles has strengths and weaknesses, and each of these styles can be profitable in the correct situation.
Each style is based on two attributes:
Whether the player is loose and play a lot of hands or tight and play very few hands.
If the player is aggressive (raises and bluffs) or passive (calls other players bets).
Loose-Aggressive
In an online poker environment this is the weakest category. This player gambles according to the following principle: he raises after every flop. Their strategy often works against poor players and will win a lot of small pots, but online, these players will go broke quickly. Sharks are often attracted by such players. Loose-Passive

But still even they are not able of beating the house.
Tight-Passive
What allows players of this type to win is other players who play the game wrong. The biggest weakness of a Tight-Passive player is that they are so easy to figure out. Players of this type never bluff. If this type of player has a decent hand or a lot of outs, he or she will call your bet or make a small bet. They fold if they have a bad hand.
Tight-Aggressive
This is the best type among all others. They have the following principle of the game: see a flop with a decent hand and then take a shot at the pot after the flop with a bet.
