1. The machines are controlled by someone in the back room.
In fact every machine, video poker or slot, has a device which operated independently.
2. The machine will become cold if a mechanic opens it.
In reality machine doesn’t know whether it has been opened or not. Most of the time a mechanic or floor-person will open a machine only to clear a coin jam or refill a hopper if you have won enough to empty it.
3. "I have played this machine for hours-it is due to hit."
It may be "due" or even long "overdue," but that doesn't mean it is "ready" to hit. The previous game has nothing to do with the following one. It doesn't matter if you have played a machine for five minutes or five hours; every deal is from a full deck and the RNG (which selects each hand) has no memory of what has happened before.
4. Using a club card makes the machine pay more often.
The player club cards do not affect the operation of the machine. Club cards will not help the machine to pay.
5. A beginner or a tourist will never win more than a constant player.
The chances of every player are the same. The machine has no way of knowing if you are a tourist or a professional or if you are tall or short. The only edge a better player may have is his ability to choose the best cards to hold.
