Poker is a popular game throughout the world. It combines principles of card games known hundreds of years ago in Europe and probably long before that in the Orient, but in its present form it is distinctly of American origin. Nowadays there are exist many poker variations, but there are not many differences between them. The principle of the game is the same for all poker variations. If you know the principles of the game well enough you can easily be a winner. Poker is a game of betting and card combinations. In most poker variations the combination of five highest-ranking cards form a winning hand, but in some poker games the strongest hands are different. When playing High/Low poker there can be two players, who can win and then split the pot. The player with the highest-ranking hand and the player with the lowest-ranking hand win. The bets made by the players are added to the pot, which is situated in the center of the table. You can compete for the pot only if you agree to meet the highest bet made by another player. Because of this rule, players are able to bluff and win the pot. To win the pot is the objective of the game. The pot can be won in two different ways. After all bets are in, all players that are still in show their hands. The player with the best hand wins. The player can make a very high bet, which will not be supported by other players. In this case other players have to fold and the player with the high bet is the winner without showing his cards. All cards of the 52 card deck are used. The cards are dealt one at a time, clockwise motion (number of cards varies with game). Aces are high, but aces rank low in the sequence A-2-3-4-5.
