Poker is played all over the world On the one hand it is based on the card games, which were popular several centuries ago in Europe, on the other hand, the modern version of the game is an American game. There exist several Poker variations, but they don’t differ from each other greatly, the principle is the same. A person who has learned these principles can play without difficulty in any game. Poker is a game of betting as to which player holds the best hand. Traditionally the strongest hand available is a combination of 5 highest-ranking cards, there are poker variations, in which the best hands are different. In a High/Low Poker game, two players have the opportunity to win and split the pot. The player with the highest-ranking hand and the player with the lowest-ranking hand win. Players make their bets and put the chips in the center of the table, which is called a pot. No player can compete for the pot unless he or she is willing to meet the highest bet made by another player. Because of this rule, players are able to bluff and win the pot. To win the pot is the objective of the game. There are two ways of winning the pot. After making all the bets there is a showdown. The player with the best hand wins. The player can make a very high bet, which will not be supported by other players. In this case other players have to fold and the player with the high bet is the winner without showing his cards. All cards of the 52 card deck are used. The cards are dealt one at a time, clockwise motion (number of cards varies with game). Aces are high, but aces rank low in the sequence A-2-3-4-5.
