All poker players can be divided into four groups. Belonging to this or that type players have both strong and weak points and all of them have advantages over others in some particular situations. Each style is based on two attributes: If the player is tight (plays very few hands) or loose (plays a lot of hands): If the player is aggressive (raises and bluffs) or passive (calls other players bets). Loose-Aggressive In an online poker environment this is the weakest category. This player gambles according to the following principle: he raises after every flop. If playing in a real casino such a strategy works against poor players and allows a player to win only small pots. But in an online casino this strategy will bring nothing but losses. Loose-Aggressive players attract sharks. Sharks let such a player has his small pots, but then they are ready to break this player and win all his money. The only way this strategy works is for the player to wander from one table to another approximately every 50 hands. Loose-Passive They are no more stronger than the first group. They typically will simply call the bets of the other players disregarding the Pot Odds or strength of their hand. Unlike other players these ones can stay in the game for a very long period of time. But still even they are not able of beating the house. Tight-Passive These players can win money simply because there are so many bad players in the online poker rooms. Such players are easy to notice. Such players never bluff. This player is more likely to call the bets of other players or to make small bets. If not, they will fold. Tight-Aggressive This style can be very successful for online play. They have the following principle of the game: see a flop with a decent hand and then take a shot at the pot after the flop with a bet.
