Deuces Wild is a video poker game played with a standard 52-card deck. The main feature of the game is deuces (2s) which stand for wild cards. Due to the fact the player has the advantage of four deuce wild cards the lowest winning hand for payout is three of a kind. A pair and two pair hands don’t pay out. Full Houses and Flushes will happen more often as deuces can be used for forming these hands. You can have Five of a Kind. Four of a Kind can pay more than Five of a Kind if they are Deuces.
Deuces Wild Video Poker Tips
The only single card you hold is a deuce. Don't hold a single ace or any "high" card-it does nothing for you. It will not help you as there is no such a winning hand as a high card. Never discard a deuce. It can and will be done if you're not paying attention. Only if there is a chance of receiving a natural royal you can do it. There is no point in keeping any other ‘high’ card with a deuce. There is no point in holding two pair. You must discard one pair (it doesn't matter which) and draw three. As a rule, you don't want to play a machine that has less than a five-for-one payout on four of a kind.
