> Virtual American Poker Origin

Poker is played all over the world It combines principles of card games known hundreds of years ago in Europe and probably long before that in the Orient, but in its present form it is distinctly of American origin. There are many variations of Poker, but they differ mostly in details and all follow the same basic principles. If you know the principles of the game well enough you can easily be a winner. Poker is a game of betting and card combinations. In most poker variations the combination of five highest-ranking cards form a winning hand, but in some poker games the strongest hands are different. When playing High/Low poker there can be two players, who can win and then split the pot. Both the player with the highest hand and the player with the lowest hand are winners. All bets made by all players go in a pile of chips in the center of the table, called the pot. You can compete for the pot only if you agree to meet the highest bet made by another player. Because of this rule, players are able to bluff and win the pot. The object of the game is to win the pot. There are two ways of winning the pot. When all the bets are made by the players, they show down their cards. The player with the best hand wins. If one of the players make a bet, which is not met by other players, he wins the pot without showing his cards. All cards of the 52 card deck are used. The cards are dealt one at a time, clockwise motion (number of cards varies with game). Aces are high, but aces rank low in the sequence A-2-3-4-5.
