There exist at east 4 types of poker players. Each of these styles has strengths and weaknesses, and each of these styles can be profitable in the correct situation.
Each of these types has at least two basic attributes.
If the player is tight (plays very few hands) or loose (plays a lot of hands):
Whether the player is aggressive or passive. An aggressive player raises and bluffs a lot. A passive player prefers to call the bets of other players.
Loose-Aggressive
Loose-aggressive player is the weakest player especially in online poker game. This player gambles according to the following principle: he raises after every flop. Their strategy often works against poor players and will win a lot of small pots, but online, these players will go broke quickly. Sharks are often attracted by such players. The sharks are fine with letting these players have 10 small pots; they are after the three large pots which will eventually break this player. To avoid such results it is better for such players to change tables from time to time. For example, every 50 hands.
Loose-Passive
They are no more stronger than the first group. The players of this group will gain success if there are a lot of wild players at the table and everything is determined only by luck. These players always call other players’ bets disregarding their strength. These players will lose very slowly, often being able to stay in against the other players, but unable to beat the house rake.
Tight-Passive
What allows players of this type to win is other players who play the game wrong. Such players are easy to notice. You never have to worry about a bluff from them. This player is more likely to call the bets of other players or to make small bets. If not, they will fold.
Tight-Aggressive
This style can be very successful for online play. They have the following principle of the game: see a flop with a decent hand and then take a shot at the pot after the flop with a bet.
