> Single Player Poker History A 52-card deck without Jokers is used in the game of Poker. It is pretty much a game of chance. Sure there are a lot of professional players out there but the chance is always the same for anybody to get the right cards or not. There is a table with maximum and minimum bets next to the dealer. You should read this table before you start playing. Each player makes at least the minimum bet and receives 5 cards face down. After this first deal the first round of betting starts. You must at least call to stay into the game. It is up to the player to decide which cards he wants to keep and which to throw away. You can hold all the cards as well as discard all of them. You will the same number of cards instead of those you have thrown away. Then there is the last deal, which is followed by the betting round. After the final betting round there is a showdown. The hands of the players are compared. The player with the strongest hand is the winner.
