All poker players can be divided into four groups. All these types of players have their own techniques which can be very useful under certain circumstances.
There are at least two main attributes for each of these types.
If the player is tight (plays very few hands) or loose (plays a lot of hands):
If the player is aggressive (raises and bluffs) or passive (calls other players bets).
Loose-Aggressive
Loose-aggressive player is the weakest player especially in online poker game. The main feature of such a player is that he raises every time after the flop. Their strategy often works against poor players and will win a lot of small pots, but online, these players will go broke quickly. Loose-Aggressive players attract sharks. The sharks are fine with letting these players have 10 small pots; they are after the three large pots which will eventually break this player. To avoid such results it is better for such players to change tables from time to time. For example, every 50 hands.
Loose-Passive
The players of this type can also be said to be weak. The players of this group will gain success if there are a lot of wild players at the table and everything is determined only by luck. These players always call other players’ bets disregarding their strength. These players will lose very slowly, often being able to stay in against the other players, but unable to beat the house rake.
Tight-Passive
What allows players of this type to win is other players who play the game wrong. Such players are easy to notice. You never have to worry about a bluff from them. If this type of player has a decent hand or a lot of outs, he or she will call your bet or make a small bet. If not, they will fold.
Tight-Aggressive
This style can be very successful for online play. These players will only see a flop with a decent hand and will then take a shot at the pot after the flop with a bet.
