All poker players can be divided into four groups. All these types of players have their own techniques which can be very useful under certain circumstances.
Each of these types has at least two basic attributes.
Whether the player is loose and play a lot of hands or tight and play very few hands.
Whether the player is aggressive or passive. An aggressive player raises and bluffs a lot. A passive player prefers to call the bets of other players.
Loose-Aggressive
Loose-aggressive player is the weakest player especially in online poker game. This player gambles according to the following principle: he raises after every flop. Their strategy often works against poor players and will win a lot of small pots, but online, these players will go broke quickly. Loose-Aggressive players attract sharks. Sharks let such a player has his small pots, but then they are ready to break this player and win all his money. The only way this strategy works is for the player to wander from one table to another approximately every 50 hands.
Loose-Passive
They are no more stronger than the first group. These players always call other players’ bets disregarding their strength. Such players can stay in the game longer than anybody else, but they will never be able to beat the house edge.
Tight-Passive
These players can win money simply because there are so many bad players in the online poker rooms. The main weak point is that it is very easy to see and notice such players. You never have to worry about a bluff from them. If this type of player has a decent hand or a lot of outs, he or she will call your bet or make a small bet. They fold if they have a bad hand.
Tight-Aggressive
This style can be very successful for online play. These players will only see a flop with a decent hand and will then take a shot at the pot after the flop with a bet.
